On September 25th and 26th, Royal Victoria Hospital hosted the MUSE Ontario Customer Peer Group meeting—two jam-packed days of connection and collaboration for healthcare IT professionals across the region. For Interlace Health, the event provided a valuable platform to engage directly with hospitals and health systems, spotlighting how our solutions address pressing challenges in patient intake, form digitization, and seamless communication.

Spotlight on Patient Intake and Powerful Integration with Meditech’s Patient Connect

A key theme at this year’s meeting was enhancing patient engagement and reducing administrative friction. Interlace Health’s Patient Intake solution drew considerable interest from many organizations. Attendees were eager to learn how Patient Intake integrates directly with Meditech’s Patient Connect (powered by Artera), allowing healthcare providers to send forms—such as pre-registration, consent, and health history documents—directly to patients before their visit.

This integration streamlines workflows by giving patients the ability to complete necessary paperwork from their own devices, accelerating admission processes and improving data accuracy. The combination of Patient Intake and Patient Connect offers clinics and hospitals a robust toolset for modernizing patient communication—something that Ontario sites are keen to pursue.

Digital Forms: Addressing Ontario’s Lab Requisition and Mental Health Paperwork

The pain of paper-based Lab Requisitions and Mental Health forms was another major topic of discussion, resonating with organizations across the province. These workflows are notorious bottlenecks, leading to delays and errors.

Interlace Health shared exciting updates from recent conversations with a number of Ontario health care facilities and Meditech about co-developing digital versions of these forms. By embedding standardized, sharable, and easily accessible electronic forms—integrated directly into the clinical workflow—hospitals can improve compliance, accuracy, and patient experience.

The enthusiasm from Ontario sites signals that a province-wide push to digitize these forms could be a game changer for operational efficiency.
