Advancing Care Through Innovation and Connection

Attending Meditech Live 2025 was a great reminder of how quickly healthcare is evolving—and how important it is to balance technology with empathy. The goal is simple: improve patient care while making life easier for providers. For those who couldn’t join us in Foxborough, here are a few highlights and how they connect to the work we’re doing at Interlace Health.

Key Themes and Discussions

One of the strongest threads throughout the event was interoperability and intelligent data exchange. Meditech’s FHIR-first approach and expanded use of APIs are not just technical milestones—they’re helping connect fragmented data so care teams have a clearer picture of their patients. This makes care more coordinated and allows providers to focus more on patients and less on data barriers.

AI and analytics also dominated conversations—both as tools for enhancing clinician workflows and as engines for real-time decision support. Sessions detailed how AI can reduce burnout, prioritize patient needs, and surface meaningful clinical insights without overwhelming end users. The conversation around AI Summarization sparked a lot of interest among healthcare leaders leveraging Meditech’s Traverse network.

Patient engagement was discussed as a lynchpin of modern healthcare. Speakers highlighted the need to empower patients with seamless digital experiences—from intake to ongoing care management. In their presentations, they shared ways to give patients easier access to portals, reduce no-shows with automated reminders, and help people take more control of their health data.

Revenue cycle optimization rounded out the discussions, with strategies to simplify workflows, increase automation, and improve financial transparency for patients and providers.

Meditech’s Expanse Patient Connect was at the center of these conversations. Over 100 Meditech clients have moved to this Patient Engagement solution, with more joining each day. Patient Connect is powered by Artera, an Interlace Health collaborator.

Strengthening Day-to-Day Experiences for Clinicians

We were proud to see three Interlace Health clients featured on stage:

  • Amyeen Hassanali – Chief Medical Information Officer, Fraser Health
  • Eric Gasser, RN, CHCIO – Vice President of Information Systems & Chief Information Officer, Wooster Community Hospital Health System
  • Jacqueline Bracy, MD – President, Emanate Health Medical Group

Their conversations touched on hot topics like Ambient Listening. With vendors such as Microsoft DAX, Suki, Avo, and Commure in attendance, it was clear the industry is serious about reducing documentation time to ease provider burnout and improve accuracy.

Another highlight was Janet Desroche’s presentation on how Meditech has incorporated recommendations from the CHIME Opioid Task Force to improve care for people with Opioid Use Disorder.

Bridging to Interlace Health’s Work

Many of these themes align closely with our focus on digital patient intake and downtime readiness. For example, the interoperability push is reflected in our work integrating patient intake forms deeply into core EHR workflows, supporting real-time data sharing and reducing manual entry. ➔Read more.

And the operational efficiency discussions echo the benefits we see from our downtime solutions that keep workflows moving during both planned or unplanned EHR outages. ➔Learn about our downtime solutions

Our integration with Meditech Expanse Patient Connect was a frequent topic of conversation, as well as our collaboration with Acmeware on Downtime solutions.

Several attendees approached us about building out Consenting solutions to support the use of Ambient Listening technologies. Apparently, there has been some patient pushback due to concern and confusion as to how these voice recordings might be used.

Looking Ahead

Events like Meditech Live show the power of collaboration and innovation as the pathway forward. As care teams, technologists, and leaders come together to break down barriers and build smoother experiences, the real winners will be patients and providers alike.
